Groundcovers and ornamental grasses have earned their place in the garden by endearing gardeners with their easy maintenance, interesting foliage and flexible use.
Groundcovers are great for:

Our Featured Grass/Groundcover this month is “Big Blue” Lirope
Big Blue Lirope is a grass-like groundcover with deep green foliage that produces a surprise in late summer-- tall spikes of deep blue, hyacinth-like flowers. Remarkably tough, Lirope will grow in full sun or shade and can handle heat and drought, but does not like “wet feet”. Perfect for borders, lining sidewalks and driveways, it also makes a lovely “blue ring” around the base of trees. Easy to maintain, just mow down the foliage in late winter for vigorous growth in the spring. Add some late summer “blues” to your garden today!
